Our awesome free summer concert series organizers are at it again, bringing old favorites, new music and crowd pleasing tunes to our gorgeous Howelsen Hill amphitheater setting. Tonight is no different, with the fabulous nostalgic sounds of The Freddy Jones Band.
If your live music loving life began in the late 80’s and 90’s (like mine did), then you probably caught a few shows of The Freddy Jones band in the midst of their sky rocketing career. In 2000, the guys took a hiatus from the rock life and reunited recently with a new album called Time Well Wasted. Certainly appropo for a group that decided time off was the best thing any of them could do for their musical careers and we’re all the luckier for it.
So now they’re back on tour, a smidge older, tons wiser and are out to remind the world why they were so special in the first place.
So this new era in The Freddy Jones Band history is well summed up by drummer, Simon Horrocks: “We felt like it was time to put out a new piece of product that had new material and is also deeply rooted in the history of the band—but sounds like today.”
And, as usual, we Steamboat locals and guests are the lucky recipients of The Freddy Jones Band re-emergence into the music scene. We’ll be welcoming them with open arms.
